INTERACTIVE MODEL

Truescape has produced a fully interactive 3D model of the CTV building in Christchurch. The model is being used by the ‘Royal Commission of enquiry into building failure’ in the hearing as the reasons for its collapse are examined. It is an honor for us to be involved with this project especially one in which accuracy and integrity are so important for everyone involved. The Truescape model can be seen starting from minute 7 in the following video link of the opening address on Monday 25 June.

TRUESCAPE GROUP ON LINKEDIN

Truescape has a lead role in promoting best practice for guidelines for simulated visual imagery with the aim of improving the overall value and credibility of the ‘visual simulation’ industry in general. To help promote open cross border discussion on this topic Truescape has formed a discussion group on LinkedIn. Its Truescape’s aim to ensure that the users and reviewers of ‘visual simulations’ can rely on the quality and accuracy of any ‘visual simulations’ that may come across their desk.

Truescape is contributing to discussions on visual imaging standards in several jurisdictions. In New Zealand we worked with the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects on the preparation of ‘The Best Practice Guide’ here in New Zealand. In the US we are an invited contributor to an initiative sponsored by a an official US Government entity who in turn are working with various Federal Agencies with the outcome of producing a usable guide there too.

In Australia we have been an invited presenter on this topic and visual imaging in general to planning groups and interested parties in four Australian states. In Canada we have also been an invited presenter to a provincial regulatory authority.

As this is a topic of high interest in multiple jurisdictions it would be great to establish an international dialogue between interested parties across international borders.

I look forward to being part of this international discussion and being a catalyst for it.
